Antique records from the year 1800 mention anillegal DuntocherDistillery, which may have been a predecessor to thelegal AuchentoshanDistillery. A license for distillation wasobtained in 1823. It is the only Scottish distillery left employing atrue full-timethird distillation. This makes for asweeter and more delicateScotch, which is unique. The Distillery is locatednear Glasgow(that’s why it’s also known as Glasgow’s Malt Whisky) in theLowland regionof Scotland.
Auchentoshan Three Woodis a no-age statement Scotch, which is aged inthree different cask types. First in Bourbon barrels, next in Spanish Oloroso Sherry and finally it’s moved toPedro XimenezSherry casks. The final maturation gives it extra nuances and a layer of very intriguing flavors.
