Badia di Morrona I Sodi del Paretaio Chianti DOCG (750 ml) is a vibrant Tuscan red from the Gaslini Alberti estate in Terricciola, Tuscany. Blending about 85% Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, it offers aromas of fresh red berries and floral notes with a clean, rubyred medium intensity color. On the palate its lively and balanced, with bright acidity, soft mature tannins, and good fruit clarity there is elegance more than power, and it finishes fresh and harmonious. Made from grapes handharvested in early October, the wine undergoes an ~8day maceration, vinification in stainless steel/concrete, and around 10 months aging in neutral vessels before bottling. The estate dates back to an abbey from 1089, purchased by the Gaslini Alberti family in 1939, and spans ~110 ha of vineyards set on sandy, calcareous soils ~150m above sea level.
