This single malt whisky from the Tomatin distillery has been aged for over 40 years in casks #49541 and #49542. The casks were filled on September 21st 1978 and then laid down in Warehouse 6, where Tomatin keep their most treasured whisky.After 30 years of aging the spirit was moved into First Fill Spanish Oloroso Sherry Casks and laid down for a further decade.

The 1978 vintage has been awarded Gold Outstanding at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit competition. This exceptional single malt scored an astonishing 98 points andproceeded to win the Trophy in the Single Malt Scotch Whisky 26 Years and Over category.

Bottled on the 4th August 2020, this is one of only 350 bottles.

The single malt has aromas of stewed fruits, maple syrup and orange peel, with flavours of dark chocolate, spices and salted caramel.
